Good Luck Bud
A Tech
When I got there, it was flat rate, took a pay cut because I was told there’s “endless work,” immediately was sucked into shop drama and s*** talked by multiple peoples. Bets were placed on how long I would last there by the bitter old f**** who are mad at the world because they’re not important enough. Was promised a raise within my first year in my interview, when I asked about it, he said I can leave if I’d like. When I handed in my notice he freaked out and gave me a $6/hr raise. When I got there initially the boss was cool for a month and then yelled and cussed me out on the regular. He runs a clown show, he’s gross and disrespectful. The way he talks to people is why HR departments are created but everyone says he’s close with HR and nothing will happen if you say something. I stayed because I found my work flow and make 6 figures now, but the work is unpredictable. One week there’s no appointments, the next it’s packed and he has a meeting about needing to hire more techs because oil changes are taking too long, he hires bums, they realize it’s s*** here, and then leave. The cycle continues.
Ac shop, main toolboxes are provided as well as scan tools/tablets, your own PC for documentation etc, and 2 bays, non-negotiable
Techs are b******, if you outshine them, they will try to get you fired. Boss is a joke, labor is $250/hr and climbing and tech pay has not gone up. You have to quit for a raise.

Ac shop, record numbers many weeks because of my skill level and efficiency, and most of the time am not held back with garbage diag because I would take the bigger warranty jobs.

These other techs are some hoes. There’s too many snake like personalities and the boss is one himself, so fixing the culture will never happen. Just show up, do the work in front of you, tell nobody anything personal, it will spread and get twisted fast.
Advice for mechanics
I wouldn’t, if you don’t live here, I would not make a long drive to work here. I moved into this town for my son and I regret so much
