Not really worth the pay after a while.

Technician

Pay is decent, but forget about ever getting a raise. Paid holidays are few and the pay is a joke, same as sick pay and benifits. Management expects techs to pay for mistakes are additional parts needed out of their own pocket for the cars if they feel like you didn’t diag well enough. Was told by GM that we don’t have bad days here because compared to his friend that killed someone and went to jail, we can’t complain about having a bad day. Equipment isn’t very good either. Trans jacks hardly work and have parts missing.

Pay

Benifits, management, holiday and sick time pay, the amount of paid vacation days, not wondering if a small mistake will cost you your paycheck because the company doesn’t want to pay for it.

Liked most

Pay when the work was good

Liked least

Management doesn’t like it when something happens and they have to pay for it so they expect techs to pay for parts out of their own pocket and eat labor if they think you missed something. They don’t talk to you about it either, just lets your supervisor know to tell you.

Advice for mechanics

The pay is good but that’s about it. Management knows nothing about what goes into fixing vehicles, hardly any holidays off, holiday and sick pay are not based on pay, just a low rate for the day. Benifits are not that great either. Owner and managers out of touch with their employees.
